1. OUR HISTORY
THE ORIGINS OF THE PROJECT
How was the Un Coeur pour l'Afrique association born?
10 years ago, Ludovic Chetail was diagnosed with an insufficiency
severe heart disease that can progress at any time. Past the dread of
the announcement, Ludovic, helped by a competent medical team and with
the support of those close to him, learns to redefine his priorities and above all
to adapt their daily life to their illness.
Thanks to his determination and appropriate medical care, he overcomes
this test and can today continue the practice of his two
passions: football and enduro.
As the months go by, Ludovic realizes how lucky he is
benefited, in particular in the rapid management from the first
symptoms and therefore wishes to share it with those who have not
this opportunity. In these African countries, health problems
related to the shortage of care are numerous. Over the course of conversations, a
a slightly crazy project then germinates in his head.
This awareness led him to design a somewhat crazy project
with the support of his friend Carlos ALVES: put their passion for
enduro at the service of a humanitarian cause by covering +10
km on a motorbike, without assistance, to reach Benin from Clermont-

mostly heart surgeries. 52 host families contributed.

DEPARTURE EXPECTED FEBRUARY 2023!
Ludovic, better known by the nickname of Loulou, is in everyday life a 49-year-old logistics manager. Whole character with a big heart, this Auvergne is very involved in everything he
undertakes. Evidenced by its investment in the associative world, the sports world of football and enduro. Faithful in friendship, Ludovic likes to share his passions and pass on his generosity to his friends. Behind this strong personality hides a sensitive and endearing man who likes to live life to the fullest. There is no doubt that he will put all his energy into carrying out his project.
Carlos, originally from Portugal, arrived in France 20 years ago, self-taught, he knew how to make his way and succeed in life. Beneath this maintenance technician hides an assertive character who knows how to defend his ideas. Patient, generous and thoughtful, Carlos adapts to any situation. His unfailing perseverance leads him to carry out
all his projects. He will be a force in this humanitarian and sporting challenge.
Max, a store manager, regularly swaps his salesman's costume for that of an adventurer. Passionate about travel and discovery, what particularly drives him is to explore new horizons, unknown lands, meet people, reach out to them and share their daily life in all simplicity and humility.
As the great lover of Africa that he is, Max has accumulated thousands of kilometers on the handlebars of his motorcycle and intends to continue his wanderings on this continent. At the beginning of 2022 Max joined the association Un Coeur pour l'Afrique and for a good cause broke his motto "the solitary and united adventure", a new challenge for him who travels alone with his maps and his compass. So at the beginning of 2023 heading for Benin with Loulou and Carlos!
