Le Maurten's Bicarb System is similar to Maurten's Gel 100 and Drink Mix. Instead of carbohydrates, it uses Hydrogel Technology to encapsulate bicarbonate and ensure its transit through the stomach to the intestine, where it is assimilated.

Lactic acid isn't necessarily an enemy: it's a source of energy produced by the body during physically demanding activities. The increased acidity during these intense efforts causes muscle overload, leading to exhaustion.

Consuming a large amount of sodium bicarbonate helps avoid the negative effects of this high acidity. However, this method has a major drawback: it can cause gastrointestinal problems for athletes and negate any performance gains.

Thanks to the Bicarb System, this is no longer a problem – taking bicarbonate has never been so simple and effective.

Customized solution 

Maurten's Bicarb System offers different servings: 12, 15, 19, 22, and 25. The bicarbonate concentration varies depending on the athlete's weight and experience. As a general rule, the heavier the athlete, the larger the serving size. However, a larger amount does not necessarily mean better performance, as the body has to get used to the bicarbonate intake.

Item A – Mixing Bowl

The Maurten Bicarb System bowl is designed for precise and optimal mixing and dosing. Clear instructions are printed on the sides, and its size allows it to be held with one hand. Its screw-on lid makes it easy to transport and store.

Element B – Hydrogel

A true revolution. Our hydrogel is the result of many years of extensive research. Its formula is specially designed to encapsulate and protect sodium bicarbonate. It allows for easy absorption without the need to chew the product. Each serving contains 40g of carbohydrates to help athletes prepare before a training session or race.

Element C – Bicarbonate

A concentrate of effectiveness. The sachet contains tiny, revolutionary bicarbonate tablets. Mixed with the hydrogel, their small diameter allows them to pass through the stomach before reaching the intestine, where they are absorbed.

Maurten's Bicarb digital system

Preparation plays a key role. Adequate bicarbonate intake requires careful planning. The ideal time to take a dose of the Bicarb System is one to two hours after a meal, such as breakfast. This is also the case one and a half to two hours before a demanding training session or race.
